Wind

Wind power is the conversion of wind energy into a useful form of energy, such as using wind turbines to make electrical power, windmills for mechanical power, windpumps for water pumping or drainage, or sails to propel ships.

Wind power, as an alternative to fossil fuels, is plentiful, renewable, widely distributed, clean, produces no greenhouse gas emissions during operation and uses little land. The effects on the environment are generally less problematic than those from other power sources.

Today, wind energy represents the most employed renewable source worldwide thanks to its outstanding productive potential, the producibility and costs ratio as well as the absence of pollution impact on the environment. Affordable costs and worldwide circulation make the wind power an high and sharply rising resource which is compatible with the energy independence process of the countries (above all developing countries) at which the international community aims.
